On the 2nd trip, Barbara and I drove up so, Barbara could meet Tony & Joan, and vice versa. We had a cool pleasant in September Saturday. Hugh & Joan, first took us out on their new pontoon boat, on Lake Charlevoix, having a Brunch of Sandwiches & snacks and beverages, and presented their new home, "anta's Summer Home", only, costing about $28 Million, which was right across the channel, neat Ironton Ferry Crossing, from the Hoyt's. Tony and Joan next took on a tour of the new Charlevoix, my how it has changed since the 1970-80's when I used top hunt deer & turkey near this town on the Big Lake Michigan! New and old, like the boulder homes park in Charlevoix to the Belmont Complex's N. of town, then stopping to see the fishing weir, where lake salmon were caught and jumping in the weir nets, then driven to see the old large, classic lake homes in a park where the Cincinnatians & Chicagoans used to 'Summer'. We were then driven to a downtown eatery, an old grist mill now turned restaurant along the cities marina, called the Weathervane Restaurant, housing giant Glacial Rocks that shaped like State of MI, and a meteorite, plus, the food was awesome. Barbara had the prime rib, I had the pork roast, and Tony & Joan had the morel mushroom dish. The fudge ice cream dish for dessert was so big, enough for 4, but we ordered 2. Which was way too-o-o-o Much! A grand time & great weather had by all, and too short of time, as Barbara had to drive back to pick-up our puppy, Hubby, before our lake friends, Roger and Nancy went to bed..We love our Cousins!!
