On Saturday 3rd May 2008 Braemar Castle opened its doors to the public once more. The Castle, which was last open to the public in 2005, is now in the care of the Braemar community. The opening ceremony was performed by Steve Robertson of "Scotland the What?" who received the keys to the Castle from Simon Blackett the factor of Invercauld Estate on behalf of the community. A Grand Fete was held in the grounds to celebrate the occasion. A good time was had by all and the weather stayed fine!
