| 14th May 2008 Dear Parents, This is a paper letter to remind you that we are trying not to send out any more paper letters. All communication will be on the website, letters are in the Parents’ area under ‘Letters Home’. After this week letters may also be sent home by email. This is not only an effort to be ‘more green’ we are also trying very hard to improve communication with you.
However, if there is anyone out there who does not have access to the website please come to the office for a paper copy. We have received a lot of email and mobile phone numbers but there are still some to come in. We hope to have the messaging service set up this week giving us the facility to text you when anything new and relevant to your year group is put on the website. We will also text you about changes to published dates and events, if your child is unwell or if we need to talk to you about another matter. So even if you don’t have an email address please let us have your mobile number.
The website is still in its infancy but is growing fast. We have had many positive comments about it from current parents and prospective parents. Communication has always been perceived to be a weak area despite great efforts to improve it. With the website all information is at your finger tips, however, there will be mistakes and omissions initially. Please talk to us about the website, tell us what you want to see there or if you spot a mistake. Let us create a website that gives you what YOU want. There is a page called ‘Connections’ on the website. This is updated almost daily to give you instant information about everything from requests to bring the sports day cups back as soon as possible please, and reminders about nits! (See attached sheet). If you only have time for a quick visit look on Connections to see if anything urgent has been put on. Finally, don’t miss Phanfare, there will be at least one photograph of YOUR child in this amazing gallery of life at Heathcote School.
