The Hatian Government granted Pastor Rigaud land adjacent to the community of La Saline to try and improve the living conditions of the people. Pastor Rigaud showed Tom and me this community north of Port-au-Prince which he believes would make an effective model to copy in some form in La Saline. These homes could be built for around $4,000 each, replacing the tin and cardboard structures with dirt floors in which the people of La Saline currently reside.
