The Heathcote School Games Tournament

The annual games tournament took place on Friday, May 2nd. Elm Green Preparatory School, New Hall Preparatory School and F.K.S. Edward’s House School sent teams of 10 to compete for the afternoon. Each competitor took part in the cross country run after which each school played every other school at mixed football and Netball. The teams had to be ratioed with 3girls and 4 boys or 4 girls and 3 boys.
New Hall School dominated the cross country whilst the eventual winners were Elm Green with New Hall in 2nd, Heathcote in 3rd and Edward’s House in 4th. Elm Green and New Hall were tied for 1st place after the tournament so there was a very exciting shoot out with the Netball goals after which they were still tied so it went to sudden death and Elm Green won.
The children and their parents retired to the Village Hall for tea and the presentation of trophies, medals and certificates.
Many thanks to the Parents’ Association for providing the afternoon and to Mr Jeffrey and Mrs Collins for their expert refereeing.
