Our News From Pittsfield, New Hampshire > Catamount Stroll
We drove up Rt 107/Catamount Road and parked on Berry Pond Road just past the entryway to Berry Pond. From there, we walked up to the towers on Catamount and then continued on down Berry Pond Road to Dowboro Road, to Tan Road, to Governors Road, back to Berry Pond Road. On the way home, we took Fairview Drive, to Main Street and then to Concord Hill Road. Enjoy Autumn in New Hampshire with us...just CLICK HERE.

Heading up Catamount Road (Rt 107)

image

The turn for Berry Pond Road

image

It's quite cool, Bruce dons a sweat shirt

image

The pavement soon ends

image

image

A great sign to see on a walk!

image

image

This has grown up a lot in the past couple of years

image

image

image

We continue past the Shaker Cemetery on Berry Pond Road

image

Hmmm....

image

image

Our dream house...

image

Is now for sale!!!

image

View from the back of the house

image

That was the last house on Berry Pond Road

image

There is a lot of ledge

image

and rocks...

image

It can be a bit of a scramble in places

image

Isn't THIS something one would expect to see on a road like this!

image

There is another "house" a little further down

image

The next house is almost to Dowboro Road.

image

We are now on Dowboro Road

Ahhh, we call this the Pumpkin Farm! :)

Using the "Honor system" for payment

There are also a LOT of squashes

I just like it!

This dome house has been here for years!

image

Looking back toward Catamount

image

This is a HUGE marsh

image

We take an old road onto a high spot in the marsh

image

We didn't expect to see that!

image

image

We go back to the road and continue on our way

image

We reach Governors Road and turn left

image

There's a lot of clearing going on down this road, too.

image

image

image

Many of the old cemetery plots are sporting new signs

image

image

image

WELL!!! I guess we won't go THAT way!!!

image

The road ahead is so steep, it looks like we need a ladder!

image

image

Yup...lots of clearing!

image

Well, that one was left....

image

There's a lot of equipment in there

image

No...we didn't walk down there, I just like it

image

image

image

We don't have to worry about traffic through here!

image

image

image

We frequently have to walk on the edges

image

image

There are signs of vehicles passing through?

image

We check out a spot that we know folks party at

image

It's not the worst we have seen, there are traces of a campfire here.

image

Trash all over the place, even a couple of BOX SPRINGS! :o

image

We continue on our way...

image

More vehicle ruts...

image

We are getting back to civilization.

image

We can see Berry Pond Road ahead.

image

We are now back on Berry Pond Road

image

Berry Pond, our water supply.

image

These folks have QUITE a view!

image

SEE!

Catamount towers in the distance

We reach the car and head home
