This race has a very long and proud tradition in this area. Renamed in honor of Nicole Reinhart in 2001 shortly after her tragic death in a cycling accident, this year marked the 20th anniversary of the event. In 1989 Lance Armstrong, Bobby Julich, Jonas Carney and George Hincapie participated in this event, when it was also a junior world road qualifier event.
