October 2, 2007 Heathcote School's Albums

Our annual Harvest Festival service was conducted by Canon Dr. G. Blythe at St. John’s church. Readings were given, from the pulpit, by some of the children in Form VI. The donations from the children, carefully carried all the way from school, were blessed by Dr. Blythe and then handed over to the representative from CHESS.

He thanked the children for their generosity, observing that last year it had taken him several trips in his car to take away their gifts. This year he had brought a van.

Later in the term the school also organised a ‘Good as New’ clothes collection. Chess helps the homeless with food, shelter and clothing and find that they have a high demand on their services from students.
