May 13-28, 2007 Princeton Journeys Albums

The Princeton Journeys program in Turkey explored the multilayered history and cultures of this fascinating nation where East meets West. Travelers visited the bustling metropolis of Istanbul, seaside resort towns such as Bodrum and Antalya, and ancient sites including Ephesus, Pergamum, Perge, and fabled Troy. The Journey included five days cruising along the Mediterranean’s aptly-named Turquoise Coast. Participants delved into the sea’s hidden mysteries under the guidance of classics professor, underwater archeologist and study leader Liz Greene ’92 *03. Along with bazaar bargaining, Turkish culinary delights, and a genuine Turkish bath, a special trip highlight was a museum tour and dinner in Istanbul hosted by Princeton alumnus Mehmet Ali Neyzi ’80 P05 and the local alumni association.
