Well, three of us hit the Dallas NorthPark Apple Store this morning at 5:15am, and were only 25th in line!
A LOT of people had not prep'd for purchasing and left the line *fuming*, but they should be thankful that some Apple Guys were working the line to tell the what they should have already known!
There was a *mob* of Apple employees, cheering and clapping for us as first surge moved into the store. But many fewer who were doing the sales, so it was pretty slow. I'm pretty sure they "registered" my phone at this point with the bar code on the back of the shrink wrapped box, as they checked ID SS etc. and then hit your credit card. THEN, they took you to a Macbook and let *you* unwrap your phone and connect to the iTunes store as 'verification'. At any rate this pretty quickly ground to a halt... all of the Geniuses were getting an error signal. I waited for an hour but I don't think ANY of these checks were going thru... However, they said we were OK to leave the Store and try it again at home.
I just now tried, but same error message!
