The Maidu Neighborhood Association, as a part of the Roseville Coalition of Neighborhood Associations (RCONA), joined neighborhoods across Roseville and the United States in celebrating National Night Out (NNO). NNO's purpose is to get neighbors to meet and know each other as the best way to promote neighborhood safety.
Neighbors met in Maidu Regional Park at the pavilion adjacent to the basketball courts to eat, socialize, and be entertained by various visitors. The evening's Hawaiian theme was reflected by the hula dance company the performed, the Hawaiian food, and even in the leis handed out to anyone who wanted one. Lady Hawke came with a number of raptors including an owl, a Peregrine, and a hawk. Target, a national NNO sponsor sent two employees with bags of goodies for kids in attendance.
