| Today, July 19th 2008, was an important day for the rest of her life for Kylie Norton. The Habitant for Humanity organization was dedicating her new home in Weatherford Texas! This is the 3rd home they have built in Parker County, and EVERYONE was on hand for the ceremony: Habitant staff, workers, volunteers, donors, family and friends. We just drove in on Highway 180 to the famous Weatherford Courthouse, turned north on Highway 51, and proceed to the corner of 4th and Rusk Streets! Come along, and we'll share the fun with you in these pictures!
As a long-time friend of Kylie, I was privileged to attend, and to take these pictures by way of my contribution to the event. This was the first time I've attended such a ceremony, and it was a wonderful exhibit of pride in accomplishment by H H, their staff, organizers, and volunteers. Over 1000 hours of work by volunteers went into this single house! The homes cannot be built without substantial contributions of cash, and the various organizations who donated to Kylie's new home were there to welcome her. City officials welcomed her to Weatherford; friends brought housewarming gifts, and everyone offered their love and encouragement to Kylie as she claimed her new home. The morning was one of joy, happiness, prayers and appreciation for those that devote their time and energies to H H.
After the ceremony, Kylie, her family and close friends, had lunch at the Weatheford Downtown Cafe, on the square.
I hope you enjoy my pictures. You may download or order prints for single pictures or the entire album. Try downloading the "playable" Slide Viewer of ALL the pictures to your own computer! Oh, and you can send back comments on the pictures.
