Custom installation of a Garmin Nuvi 760 in a 2008 Ford Taurus. The top compartment fits the Nuvi perfectly. I detached the cradle from the ball mount. Then, using foam double-sided tape, I attached a 4" strap hinge to the back of the cradle and attached the other side of the hinge to the bottom of the compartment. The hinge lets the Nuvi lay down flat and swivel up. A small piece of velcro along the top of the Nuvi attaches to the underside of the hatch lid. The power cable and the stereo output cable were routed down through the dash after drilling a small access hole in the back right corner of the compartment. The power cable comes out alongside the center console, not far from the power socket. The stereo line-in cable continues through the center console where it connects inside the console.
